I hate having to tell and to live a lie but I guess this time, there really isn't much of a choice.
Sab asked me for a favour to send her to the office yesterday morning which I did. The first couple of mins drive was as per normal until we reached the exit from Bedok into PIE. There was this lane that merged 2 lanes into one. What happened was that as the 2 lanes merged into 1, with me on the right lane and this long vehicle on the left, the end result was that the long vehicle actually clipped off my left wing mirror and left a scratch to the front left-hand side of my car. I didn't know what to do and the driver of the long vehicle motioned to me that it was too close and he drove off. I was in a state of shock and as I didnt want sab to be late for work, I just drove her to her workplace. Upon reaching her workplace, I stopped the car at the carpark and waited for sab to pass me tape to tape the badly damaged mirror up temporarily before I sent the car to the workshop.
I have yet to file any report with the police or the insurance (even though I've got his vehicle number) after discussing with sab. We didnt want mum to know as she'd probably kick up a big fuss and bar me from driving or something. And this, sab says isn't my fault as she witnessed that it was the long vehicle's long and bulky steel rods that snipped our wing mirror off. I'm so confused. We have decided not to make a report as if we were to do so, mum will know. So right now, I have to bear the brunt of the repair works which really ain't cheap. $905 for the mirror. I've yet to spray praint the mirror cover yet which I'd probably have to do so later today once mum sets off for work. (Didn't do it together yesterday as mum wld know abt the incident as the car would have to be left at the workshop overnight.) Spray works will add another $60 to the grand total.
Sigh... I really really hate lying and I feel so horrible over this. Though I know it's not my fault...now I'm just so worried that anything will go wrong.
